Migrating from Outlook to Apple Mail on Mac

Switching from Microsoft Outlook to Apple Mail is straightforward once you have a way to open your PST archive. macOS cannot open PST files directly — but MailRaider Pro can. It reads the entire archive, preserves your folder structure, and exports everything to MBOX format, which Apple Mail imports directly.

The process is three steps:

Step What to do Result
1 Drag your PST archive onto MailRaider Pro Your Outlook folders and email open in MailRaider Pro, fully searchable
2 Choose File > Export > MBOX MailRaider Pro exports your email to MBOX, with nested folders preserved as nested archives
3 In Apple Mail, choose File > Import Mailboxes, select Files in mbox format, and point it at the exported folder Your email arrives in Apple Mail with your original folder names intact

MailRaider Pro also handles OLK databases — the archive format used by older versions of Outlook for Mac — and MBOX files, using exactly the same workflow.

For the complete step-by-step guide — including how to navigate the archive, sort and search your email, open individual messages, and understand how Apple Mail handles the imported folder structure — see the full MailRaider Pro archive tutorial.
